If your project demands precision, we’re the team you want.
Momentum Aeronautics is an aeronautical engineering company based at the Downtown St. Paul Airport (KSTP) in St. Paul, Minnesota. We specialize in the design, analysis, testing, and certification of aircraft and aircraft modifications, and we bring deep technical expertise to every project we take on.
Our work spans a range of demanding disciplines: landing gear design and development testing, aircraft wheel and brake systems, seating systems, and flight test program design and execution. When you bring a complex certification challenge to Momentum, you’re working with engineers who have done this before, across platforms, across regulatory frameworks, and in conditions where getting it right is the only option.
We also build our own products. Heatwave is our composite scooping float system for the Air Tractor AT-802, designed specifically for aerial wildfire firefighting. It’s FAA certified, EASA validated, and Brazil ANAC approved, and it’s actively deployed on wildfire operations across North America. Heatwave is what happens when you apply serious engineering discipline to a mission-critical problem.
What working with us looks like.
You bring us a problem — a modification that needs certification, a system that needs to perform under load, a flight test program that needs structure — and we bring the engineering depth to solve it. We work with customers across the United States, Canada, and internationally, and we have the in-house capabilities and specialty contractor network to handle complex, multi-disciplinary projects efficiently.
Our experience includes:
- Aircraft structural design and analysis
- Landing gear design, development, and testing
- Wheel, brake, and seating systems
- Flight test program design and execution
- FAA, EASA, and international certification
- STC development and approval
If you have an engineering or certification challenge, we’d like to hear about it.
